The 7th Nordic-Baltic Choral Festival 2012 for mixed choirs will take place in Helsinki, Finland, 22-25 August 2012. The centre of the event is the unique Finlandia Hall in the very heart of Helsinki. In the Baltic countries this tradition is, partly due to the political history of these countries, still a central element of the choral movement. In the Nordic countries this tradition has diminished with time, but its legacy lives on in much of our national-romantic repertory. The aim of this years festival is to give the participants as many chances as possible to perform, meet choristers from the other participating countries, pick up new ideas for their choirs, hear new music and above all sing together.
